All kinds of creative stuff happening around here this week. All of it very hush hush.
Need a hand for Halloween?

Leland and the Mammoth
It was hard to tell in this light if it was night or early dawn
when a Lesser Spotted Purple Mammoth wandered all alone.
He came across the mighty Leland resting on some level land
and approached him fearlessly as if following a plan.
Not by visual cue but just by smell and sound
a silent burst of energy attached to teeth that knew what they had found.
Steel-trap jaws and forepaw grip
a suffocating hold that doesn't bleed, or tear, or rip.
The predator, the conqueror, the mighty Leland sits
amongst the wreckage of his indigo antagonist.
But as evidence from a simple sniff and prod suggests
this elephant isn't dead at all just extraordinarily depressed.
"You see" the mammoth started "I've lost my herd to poachers and for myself I've had to fend"
"I came up to you on the plain back there to see it we could be friends"
"I know you're the mighty Leland and I am just your prey but…"
"Its okay" Leland interrupted, "I wasn't very hungry anyway."
The end.
You know
You know, sometimes you just gotta tell the bitch on the bus next to you to mind her own fucking business.

Conqueror
I think I need to redo this one larger. I'm also not too keen on the left face but for now:

WIP IT
A couple of Something Animal WIPs before I ruin them in Photoshop. I think I notice a trend here... damn you Adobe!

Pustit
Another Riot District character...
Ink and gouache, colored in Photoshop with our back alley overlaid. Ah, Los Angeles your urban decay is nowhere near as inspiring as Detroit's but it has it's uses.

Riot District
I feel like all the ideas I've had over the last few years finally have a place to call home. Hopefully when this project is finished someone will want to know when it all started. Although it didn't start today (not by a long shot); it started to make sense today.

Can't wash it off!
This panel was supposed to go on the last page, now I've either got to cram it in or put it on the next page. Whoops.

How about Something
Animal?...
Another work in progress in a endless series of over-complicated layouts for Something Animal (I like adding in swear words to the script on the off chance it irritates the Fanboy Comic people).

Grain
A stranger took a film photo of me and Meg hanging out at the Getty Center. What a great picture, imagine not having to texture and grain! Crazy...

Oh you know
Oh you know, just trying to find new and interesting ways to show Jack with his shirt off (as he strips like 20 times in this damn book). Next time I'm taking his bottoms off too, watch me!
