Drawing crowds or even slightly crowded situations, even with some reference, has got to be one of the most difficult things for me to draw. I've struggled with it all week and eventually gotten to the point where it's this frustrating but oddly enjoyable and educational thing worming it's way around in my brain.
Okay, back to it.

One of
One of those weeks.
A frustrating week of drawing and painting every single day with barely anything to show for it (although I briefly considered making a quirky coffee-table book of the million sticky note figure and face-study sketches I made).
I did enjoy the abnormally cold and rainy weather though and I have a faint sense of smug satisfaction that I'm secretly becoming a better artist.
Next week, it's on! (and by "on" of course, I mean more BUS AND TAXI SCENES!)

This page
This page was supposed to have twice as many panels and twice as much information. I ended up painting more and making the panels bigger, the layout became impossible and there will have to be another page. Oh well, I'm really happy with how this turned out, which is the important thing. What are printing costs anyway?

Oh hey
Oh hey I can paint sober, who would've thought to try that?
You think you're better than me Friday, well you're not.
Nice try.

No means
no..?
I know, first I'd heard of it too!
Something Animal WIP ink and watercolor. Bit bigger than I usually do and there's an accidental ink blob that looks suspiciously like a hair pick. Might have to do something about that...

Next time
Next time someone please make sure to insist I use a better looking guy as my reference for the lead character.

Or maybe
Or maybe I'll lay it out Tuesday.
I have a feeling that when I am done with Something Animal I'm going to want to throw out the first 20 pages and do them over. I either need to get better slower or work faster.
Probably the latter. Typical.

Good thing
Good thing we got all the fun stuff out of the way earlier this evening as we both ended up getting a lot of work done tonight. I'll put this page together on Monday:

Preemie
This announcement might be a little premature but seeing as we were going to do this car for last month's Pinewood Derby and were unable to attend (due to unforgiving work schedules and the plague) I thought it would be appropriate.
Also, just so you know we weren't slacking we will have another top secret car in addition to "Preemie" ready for October 26th!

Painting
Painting a bit of Something Animal, a bit of Riot District and watching some awesome 80s movies. Now Meg's taking me out for Greek food. What could I have possibly done to deserve this?!

You would think
You would think sitting with a clipboard on your lap in a hot, cramped car for 45 minutes at lunchtime would be a great way to get a lot of work done on your comic.
But its not.
It also still smells like "hockey equipment" when I first turn on the AC.
