Don't think I haven't noticed that lately this blog just shows a lot of sketches, doodles and "works in progress" and very few finished works. You'll be pleased to know that this provides me with a constant low-grade anxiety.
It's tough doing comic illustration. You can get stuck in embarrassing thumbnail-sketch and trying-new-techniques purgatory for weeks on end, or you might have 5 pages breach majestically over a Saturday afternoon. Nobody hears from you for a year then you show up with an 80 page comic that also has to serve as your portfolio. The more serious I get about this whole illustration thing the less inclined I am to post shitty work or non-art related stuff on this blog. I can live with that.
For now you'll have to trust that I'm working on 2 very cool new projects (and a 3rd secret bonus project) both of which I've yet to entirely figure out.
In the meantime please check out my last comic
Something Animal! It's about 75-ish pages of hand-painted art, a couple of photographs and a story all very nicely printed indeed.
It looks a little bit like this:
Only more printy.
Also, I've been known to take photos, like this one:
But I mean really photography is just about finding cool stuff and being there with the camera right?
RIGHT.
Now click the pic and find a bunch of really cool stuff, from a talented chick and be there with your wallet.
Okay, back to sticky-note masterclass.
